Katherine Cameron, MD
Dr. Katherine Cameron is a board-certified urologist who is dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of general urologic conditions. She specializes in female urology, including management of chronic urinary tract infections, overactive bladder, pelvic floor dysfunction, stress and urge urinary incontinence, interstitial cystitis and painful bladder syndrome. She has been practicing in Knoxville for almost 20 years. A Knoxville native, Dr. Cameron attended the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis and returned to Knoxville to give back to her community. She graduated valedictorian from Bearden High School and then attended the University of Virginia where she graduated with a BA in French. Prior to medical school, Dr. Cameron had the opportunity of a lifetime to be an au pair for a French family with three young children outside Paris, France and to participate in a medical internship program in the south of France in Nice. She received her medical degree from The University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Memphis and completed an internship and residency at The University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Dr. Cameron is passionate about providing the best care to her patients which motivates her to listen carefully and be attentive to provider personalized care for each of her patients. Over her career, she has felt drawn to the underserved area of women’s pelvic health which often gets neglected or undertreated. She is an advocate for proactive and preventative women’s pelvic health and strives to both educate her patients on their treatment options and to guide them to make the best decisions for their personal health issues. Dr. Cameron was the first operative female urologist in Knoxville.
Dr. Cameron lives in Knoxville with her husband and three children and two miniature schnauzers. She is a devoted mother, wife, sister, aunt, daughter, friend and Christian. She loves playing tennis, when time allows, and loves to be outdoors running, biking, hiking, or skiing (water or snow). She prefers the mountains over the beach and loves all things Big Orange!
